What is Web Reputation? How to measure and increase it?

Web Reputation is the term associated with entities related to web. It could be applicable web company, website, web property, web blog or web people etc. It is not defined by mere rating but other factors contribute to it as well. Rating is just a number on a scale of 1-10 or 1-100, but web reputation comprises of popularity, reach, availability and searchability along with rating.

It means how many web entities i.e. webperty, webpany, weblogs and web people etc. are linked to it. How many of them talk about it. How many web people and users search directly about it. Again this is not just the numbers that matters but what they are talking about and how they are linked.

  • Do web entities talk about every update of you?
  • Do web users blog about you very often?
  • Is you or web entity directly being searched?

What?

In what way you (or your web entity) are being discussed and mentioned. Is it something +ve or –ve. When you are being searched, what supporting terms are being added to your entity name while searching. Does these terms give a positive message or negative message.

Who?

Who is talking, mentioning, tweeting about you. Is it another web entity or just a web user. What is the web reputation of such an entity i.e. the weightage factor comes into play as well.
