For backlinking we submit our site to many kinds of directories like Web Directory, Article, RSS and Blog etc. But often we find it difficult to search a category where our site can fit into. Though, we know in which category or categories our site can be classified but different directory sites have different categories and many a times we are not able to find a suitable category.
I am listing some ways which can help in locating a suitable category for your site.
- Create a list of categories you think is appropriate. Search for them when submitting to a directory. If you are able to find even one category then it is great.
- Prepare a list of synonyms and search for them as Categories
- Search in the directory for a category that you have listed in Case 1. You will find few site results in that search as this category keyword may be in Site Names, Title or Description of few sites. Then find out in which categories these sites have been listed.
- Go to dmoz.org and search for a category, you will get some results and then you can relate them in other sites.
