Amazon is one of the leading marketplaces of Indian online e-commerce webpany. Using site as a seller is easy with very good support. Though there could be some features missing in the seller dashboard site that if possible could make Seller’s life a bit easy and would enhance his/her output.
Some of the easy to use and less time taking features are:
- Support – Fantastic support. Just click and get callback, generally with in 10-15 seconds you are talking to Customer Care.
- Uploading New Product – Easy to add new product. No multiple checks.
- Uploading Bulk Products – Your products doesn’t exist on Amazon. Want to create new products in Bulk, just download the required template, get GTIN exemption (if required) and upload your template for checking. Good thing is, we get results in 1 minute or some minutes for any errors or success.
Some features which can be included would be:
- Tax Reports – As per the GST tax filing, reports are not available in required GST format. Available reports are that of sale, which has to be converted in GST format manually for B2b, B2c, invoice details and GST forms.
- Product page – Many pages doesn’t follow product page guidelines. Either the image is of low quality, have watermarks, contact details of seller or description has such details which are against guidelines. The product team doesn’t take actions against such products.
- Pickup Option – A seller has an option to go for either Self Ship or Easy Ship but no option for both. An option should be available where seller can mark some products as Self Ship (or Easy Ship).
- Pickup Location – Pickup location (or warehouse) is limited to 1 only. It would be good to have option to provide multiple locations for shipping (conditions can be implemented based on same city, same state etc.). While scheduling products for Shipment, sellers should have option to select a different Shipping location from the default one. Sometimes it may happen that seller is operating from multiple locations, he/she stores different products at different location, or SOH of one location is 0 while he/she has SOH as other location. This other location could be in same city, same state etc.
- Re-routing Products – Returns are a disappointment for every seller when reasons are not related to product quality, damaged/malfunctioned product. When a return/reject request is raised by Buyer in the case when product is yet be delivered then same SKU item should be hold on to Amazon’s warehouse or directly sent to other Buyer (if any order of same SKU is there) without sending it back to Seller to avoid Shipping costs. In case of returned products, cost of shipping is high on sellers.
- Warn Order – Seller’s should have better privileges before scheduling a shipment without any penalties when Seller doesn’t want to ship item to a particular seller. Some cases of trouble for sellers in this case occur when experience with a particular buyer hasn’t been good with the Seller. Buyer returns a lot. Look like this product would be returned by buyer. Wrong Address for buyer (though this is handled by support team but some trigger should be there for Warning). The Warn trigger will have some options like Wrong Address, Buyer returns a Lot, Un-friendly Buyer, Buyer already a bad Buyer outside of Marketplace, Buyer would return the item, Buyer has order different Sizes of same item just for try etc. As shipping cost is high for return orders such warning signs could help in better order success rate
- Buyer rating – Though this would definitely be an important feature implemented in backend, there should be more transparency to be shown to seller. Some statistics like % return by this buyer over time period. Buyer pays shipping in case of return (with reasons like ordered by mistake, no longer required, rejected before receiving etc.). For each return order a min. penalty of Re. 1, Rs. 5, 10, 20 etc. could be done when there are above mentioned reasons.
- Product rating – Buyers go for rating and reviews before making a purchase decision. It should be made mandatorily for buyer to provide rating for last purchase (on successful purchase) before making any new purchase. This would give better insights to other buyers as some products/seller don’t have much ratings.
